Trying to catch up again!

It has been a long time again since I have blogged! Time sure flies when you are busy! I have been working with my Brownies and getting them ready to fly up into Juniors, and this is my last year with Brownies, I will be a Teen Troop leader and no more Brownies :( Its a little bittersweet as I have been doing this level for 9 years....at the same time I am looking forward to working exclusivly with the older girls, some of which were my first Brownies!

I have started my Spring Cleaning, which will probably take me all summer to complete, but I at least feel a little more organized in the house, thankfully i dont have a whole lot to do in the kitchen, since its still has that 'new car' smell to it, I do have to do a little sanding and covering on the counters, but i want to wait for a nice day so i can open up the house before i start that project.

A young girl that goes to the same school as my two teens was diagnosed with brain cancer, she is only 14....I am going to start knitting some chemo hats for her...in her favorite color of purple! I went to a candle shop sale last night with proceeds benefitting her and I am going to buy some luminary kits to light when she comes home (I think for Easter). Its such a shame that someone so young has to be so sick...I have added her to my prayers!

I have been getting progressivly more busy at work....thats a good thing, and yet it ties me to the office even more, which I don't like.

It's starting to feel like spring...and I for one am glad, hopefully all the snow is done, and I can soon get to planting a garden!!!

Well I feel like i cought up a little anyway....
more soon (hopefully)

Thoughts

After watching the events of Tuesday I just had to make a remark. I guess in the spirit of the new changes....What an event it turned out to be...over 2 million people turning up for the ceremony, all of D.C. clogged with people, no one injured, no major police intervention, and everyone getting along.....could it be that this is what should be happening all along. People of all races standing next to each other, happy in the moment. Proud once again to be Americans!
Everyone compares this to the time of Kennedy....but I think its much different. We need this man to run this country the way it was intended to be run. I know none of it will happen overnight....it didnt go down the toilet overnight....we need to support this man and the things he intends to do.
My children were interested in what he had to say...what does that say about the new President! I was interested in what he had to say, and that is saying alot....I am not a political person, actually at times it is more a bother than anything else. I never had the desire to be a part of polotics, but with the new president my mind has been changed. I want to be involved...I want America to be better for my kids and their children.
It was the most I have ever watched of an innaguration....and to be honest I usually just watched to see what the First lady was wearing, this time though I wanted to hear what he had to say. And with relief to watch the old president leave!
I am once again thrilled to have my patriotism back!

I'm catching up

Wow! I am a horrible blogger! I haven't blogged in a long time. I guess I have just been too busy with life! LOL
The kitchen has been done since the weekend before thanksgiving, thankfully, because the whole family was here.
Christmas snuck up on me, it just came too fast! i did manage to pull out a holiday on a budget (actually under budget) and everyone seemed happy.
We had a little get together on New Years Eve and had a really good time as well.
Christmas is all packed away, and i am trying to get back into the swing of things...the kids have had way too many days off for my taste, and it looks as though there will be a few more before this winter is over...the kids may go to school till the middle of June.
I am learning to spin (thanks to Kristie who bought me a spinning kit for Christmas) I finished all my knitting projects for Christmas. i am currently working on a pair of socks (2 at a time) and a shawl.
i will attempt to be better at posting...as i have the time.
